Landlords and Property Managers, you can provide affordable housing in Jefferson County by participating in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program.
Landlords can now set up a direct deposit account. Please call HAJC for the appropriate forms.
Landlords participating in the program operate in the same way as a landlord in the private rental market. The owner must sign a lease (can be month to month) with the Section 8 recipient. A principle benefit to the landlord for participating in the programs is that the federal government guarantees a good portion of the rent.
Direct Deposit Information
The Housing Authority of Jefferson County Voucher Program is mananged by the Bremerton Housing Authority. In our efforts to provide better customer support, the Bremerton Housing Authority has implemented an electronic or Direct Deposit of rents. The authority is now processing payments to owners using a Direct Deposit method and is encouraging all owners to take advantage of this opportunity.
Landlords who want to begin direct deposit can do so by calling HAJC for the appropriate forms to complete. Then simply return the completed form along with a check or deposit slip from your checking or savings account with “VOID” written on it. Mail to:

Once the completed documents are received the direct deposit transaction will begin on the next scheduled check run.
Please remember that the transfer takes place on the first business day of the month. Your financial institution may take an extra day or more to apply the payment to your account. There will be no other mailings sent to you, but you can check our website to review all payments made to you during the year. You may also look up the monthly Newsletter for important updates.
You will need to contact your financial institution for information regarding deposits to your account.
If you have a change of address, or account change, please resubmit the direct deposit form or notify us in writing if you wish to discontinue the direct deposit.
